Alvaro Andrade

Alvaro Andrade was born in Guatemala in 1959. He started writing poetry at the age of 14. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a bachelor of environmental design and in 1986 he finished his master's degree in construction management from the same university. Alvaro Andrade is an artist, writer, and real estate developer. He has had several individual and collective exhibitions of his paintings, drawings and sculptures. His works are in private collections in the US and Guatemala.

His first poetry book, "Threads: A Collection of Poems" was published in 2002. His second book, a collection of poems in spanish, "Asi Eres Tú", was published in 2004. "Estrellas en la Arena", his third book, was published in 2015. He lives in Dallas with his Wife and three daughters.
