In July, William Byrnes will join the faculty of Texas A&M University Law School, and continue to develop innovative programs as an associate dean. He obtained the title of tenured law professor in 2005 at St. Thomas University School of Law and in 2008 the rank of Associate Dean at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. He was elected Chair of two AALS sections: Post Graduate Legal Education and Graduate Programs for Foreign Lawyers, and is currently Chair Elect of the Section on International Legal Exchange.
As a tax attorney, William Byrnes served in a senior position for international tax at Coopers and Lybrand, consulting multinationals in Southern Africa, Western Europe, South East Asia, the Indian sub-continent, and the Caribbean. He has been consulted by a number of governments on tax policy and on distance education, and is each year invited around the world to speak and teach at professional/trade associations, government departments, large financial institutions and universities.
