Dr. Boris Berenfeld is the President and Founder of the International Laboratory for Advanced Education Technologies (ILAET). Throughout his career, he has pioneered the application of advanced technologies for education and has worked on breaking down barriers separating educators worldwide.
Dr. Berenfeld organized East-West Conferences on New Technologies in Education, advised IBM’s Quorum project on e-learning programs for 10 Latin American Nations, consulted for the World Bank’s Distance Learning Projects and for “Learning Without Frontiers,” UNESCO’s Director General task force. As the Director of the International Center at Concord Consortium, he co-founded the “The Art, Science & Technology of Learning: Designing Learning Environments for the 21st Century” (ASTL) Program for UNDP to disseminate pedagogical innovations among 25 developing countries.
With support from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), Dr. Berenfeld spearheaded the development of the Global Lab Project, the first Internet-based science course. Dr. Boris Berenfeld served as Associated Editor, Education Communication and Information (ECi) Journal and was Member of the Editorial Board, of T.H.E. (Technology Horizons in Education) Journal. In 2003, For his outstanding innovations in education, technologies and the environment, Dr. Berenfeld was inducted as a fellow for life in the World Technology Network.
