May Redwood learned to knit at her grandmother’s side as a little girl, and she has been knitting for her family ever since.

She writes patterns for knitters who want to finish what they start: quick, cosy projects on straight needles, clearly written and easy to follow, even if you are new to knitting.

Every pattern is knitted up and tested before it goes into a book, so what you make looks like the photo. Many of those test pieces end up as Christmas presents for her children or grandchildren.

Most of her designs are a lovely way to use up leftover yarn, turning odd balls from bigger projects into gifts people will actually wear.
