James Clingman

James Clingman is an award-winning syndicated newspaper columnist. For more than twenty-five years he has written, given speeches, taught, and advocated for economic empowerment via entrepreneurship. Clingman has written five books on economic empowerment, and his newspaper column has been in circulation for twenty-four years.

He is a true activist and follows his words with action. Clingman founded the Cincinnati Black Chamber of Commerce and played a key role in the development of twelve other Black Chambers around the nation. He started a public Entrepreneurship High School, a national charitable initiative called the Blackonomics Million Dollar Club (BMDC), and a local self-help fund for those in need called O.U.R.S., Organized and United Resources for Self-Sufficiency.

Clingman is nationally and internationally recognized for his down-to-earth writing and speaking style in keeping with his description of his linguistic acumen, “I write to express, not to impress.” He is a serious writer who leads by example and puts his personal actions behind the words he writes.
