Annie Jackson

Annie Jackson writes clean YA fantasy fairy tale retellings. Her Princess Kingdoms series includes Tattered Heart, a Sleeping Beauty retelling, and Enchanted Storms, a Beauty and the Beast retelling set three centuries earlier in the same kingdom.

Stories have always consumed her life. She grew up rereading Madeleine L'Engle, C.S. Lewis and Robin McKinley, and still considers a long weekend well spent if it involves three seasons of a good series. She worked in television and film production before turning to fiction, which turns out to be excellent training for understanding stories in multiple mediums.

She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and developed the Agile First Draft method for writing novels in focused iterative passes. She writes fairy tales because she still believes in a world of gallant heroes, where princesses are not frivolous things and honor is not for the faint of heart.
