Gerald Gräf, born in 1957, has lived since early childhood in a small village on the eastern outskirts of Hamburg. After the death of his wife, he published his first book in 2009, The Liquor Strategy, in which he processed her suffering and passing. Two years later, his first novel was released: The Shadow of Apophis is a mystery-science-fiction drama that was reissued in a fully revised edition in January 2016. In this work, the author explores the abysses of the human soul and the transience of life on Earth.
In 2013, Gerald Gräf published another autobiographical work together with Iris Lewe. Excuse Me, Which Way to Life? tells the story of a new love that emerged from the shared grief of the two authors.
In 2015, Gräf presented his first thriller. In God’s Invisible Army, he tells the story of a supposedly intelligent virus through a series of short episodes.
With the thriller The Model Maker, the author published his darkest work to date, in which readers are confronted with a bizarre relationship between a serial killer and a police officer. The 2017 thriller The Terrorist’s Pact picks up and further develops the story of The Model Maker. Here, the author explores a dangerous trend: good appears to be cooperating with evil – and vice versa?
The third and final part of the series was released in 2020. In The Nightmare Killer, an aging murderer pursues a perfidious plan. His victims are not the primary targets of his desire – instead, he goes after the eyewitnesses … and their future children.
In 2022, Gerald Gräf published his first short crime story, Death from the Underground, in the crime anthology Ahrensmord, released by Niemeyer Verlag. The following year, his short story AREA46 – Murder at the Gym appeared in Ahrensmord2, in which the fitness-enthusiastic advocate of “self-complexity” offers a glimpse into the world of international espionage.
