Gary Blanchard LADC1

Gary Blanchard's writing focuses on addiction counseling and recovery, but he has also written books about music as well as an autobigraphy. Gary began his career in the addiction treatment field after graduation from College of Notre Dame of Maryland’s Weekend College in 1998. In 2000, Gary enrolled in Vermont College of Norwich University; he received a Masters in Addictions Counseling from Vermont College in 2002.

Since moving to West Brookfield, Massachusetts, in 2006, Gary worked in programs for people with co-occurring disorders. He also has a private practice, providing counseling in Ware, Massachusetts. Gary teaches at Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor; in 2014 he was named Counselor of the Year by the Massachusetts Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (MAADAC).

Gary is the author of Positive Path Recovery and Counseling for Medication Assisted Recovery. He has presented at many local and national conferences. He is Past President of MAADAC.
