David Ferrante

David Ferrante is a sociologist and writer. His research grows out of the analysis of society - published, among others, by Franco Angeli, Solfanelli, and the University of Chieti-Pescara (D'Annunzio) - and gradually moves toward what reason cannot explain: beliefs, rituals, and the collective imagination that survives in the shadows.

From this tension emerges a wide-ranging body of work spanning essays, short stories, and anthologies, including the essay "Tradizioni, riti e sortilegi del 24 giugno" and the cycle "L'Ammidia", "Fate, Pandafeche e Mazzamurelli", "Magare" and "Anime Sperse", giving voice to witches, ghosts, and presences at the edges of memory.

Having explored the shadow, he now writes about what moves through it. In his most recent books - "Il dolore della luce" and "Non bastano cento parole" - feeling is not explained: it is inhabited, awaited, tended.

Because every search, in the end, returns to the same mystery: love.
