I reside in Saskatoon Canada. When I was a young girl approaching my teens, Schizophrenia brushed me. I spiralled down an abyss I couldn't fight this disease strikes between the teen years and young adulthood it robs a person of joy, life and replaces with depression, rage, mistrust, despair; meds hospitals, psychiatrists was my life.
I thought this nightmare would't end, but eventually, I achieved an adult grade twelve education, a post secondary education and travel to places I could only dream about.
If you are a survivor, own it, embrace the scars they are a badge, but never, let it define you will be lost to hopes and dreams everyone has entitlement to.
