Laura Padgett is a Colorado native, award-winning author and dancer, as well as a sought after public speaker/teacher of writing and dance. She is the daughter of a first-generation Sicilian-American father and a fourth-generation Scottish/Irish mother. She grew up listening to her parents tell stories that were either invented or chronicled their personal or family histories.
Laura has a Master of Arts from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. In graduate school, she majored in the art of storytelling and often incorporates stories into speaking engagements and dance performances. She has published several fiction and nonfiction pieces in various online magazines.
Laura's first book, "Dolores, Like the River" chronicles her thirty-five year, life-changing relationship with her friend and mentor, Dolores. She is also published in two "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books and "Letters to America" by Xulon Press. Her second Book, "Jesus in Shorts" is a collection of twenty-five true short stories of life-changing Jesus moments in Padgett's life.
She is married to Keith. They live in Montrose, Colorado. Laura spends as much time as possible traveling the world and helping other people understand why their stories matter and encouraging others to share their stories.
