Danette Key

I grew up in Arizona and lived there over 50 years. I worked for State Farm insurance for 33 years, but as an Auto Underwriter for about 10. I obtained my degree in Business management while I worked there and my CPCU, an insurance designation. It was a great job. I raised three boys and had two foreign exchange students, both girls.

I have 5 other brothers and sisters that are spread all around and have several grandchildren.

My passion to write was always something that I put on the back burner as I worked and raised my kids & attended school. Now that my kids are raised, I am finally doing what gives me great joy, writing.

I have had the blessing of traveling overseas several times and living in upstate New York and Texas was a thrill, but always called Arizona my home. Now, I'm retired and living in a small community called Young, AZ and collecting my pension.

I have a fun sense of humor and love to laugh. I enjoy communicating with readers too. I am now writing my third novel and have a children's book in the process of being illustrated! its an exciting time!

I have volunteered in several ways in the past. I was the VP of the Friends of the Library in Texas and I had volunteered in the local children's theater for making costumes. I am a member of Toastmasters and mentor members there. I belonged to the local chapter of CPCU for insurance professionals. I'm the treasurer of the Community Council her in my town. And also belong to a Ham radio called TARA, that I volunteer as the treasurer too. I love to make cards & give them out as much as I can. I also am a grandmother of 22 children!! And a wife to a wonderful man, Hal, of 33 years.
