Mark Saba

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, I have been living in New England for the last 35 years. My fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction have appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies around the U.S. and abroad. In addition to the print books listed here, I am the author of several fiction ebooks which you can find at www.marksabawriter.com, along with some of my artwork. I have also produced poetry videos. I recently retired from Yale University as an illustrator and graphic designer.

I consider every creative thing I produce—including stories, poems, essays, paintings, illustrations, and films—a poetic expression. I try to reach the core in each one, the thing that makes it unique and worth investigating. This universe we inhabit consists of nothing but details, and in every detail there are hints that reflect everything else. I try to locate interesting details and highlight them for others to see and relate to their own lives.
