Katie Marie

Katie Marie is a horror writer, researcher, and lifelong fan of all things strange and unsettling.

She is currently undertaking a creative-critical PhD exploring the representation of the disabled body in Lovecraftian horror. Her research examines how cosmic horror has traditionally portrayed disability and how those narratives can be reimagined to centre disabled perspectives, agency, and complexity.

That passion carries through to her fiction. Katie specialises in crafting horror that gives voice to characters who are often pushed to the margins, finding new ways to tell their stories within worlds filled with awe and dread.

A fan of the genre since childhood, ever since her mother first read her Clive Barker’s The Thief of Always, Katie’s love of horror has evolved into a career that merges creativity, critical insight, and advocacy.

When she isn’t writing or researching, Katie can often be found playing horror video games, watching unsettling films, or wandering through the Norfolk countryside daydreaming about what might be lurking just out of sight.
