Gabriele Antonini is an author, illustrator, and art director with more than twenty years of experience creating engaging visual stories and award-winning creative work. Over the last four years, he has served as an Art Director, leading projects that combine strong visual communication with compelling storytelling.
He is perhaps best known for his illustrations in The Fearsome Beastie, an award-winning picture book that won the People’s Book Prize, was shortlisted for the Rotherham Book Award, received a Highly Commended distinction in the US Forward Literature Awards, and earned a Bizziebaby Gold Award.
His creative work extends beyond publishing into brand and packaging design. Notably, his collaboration with Dew Gibbons on Happy Monkey Smoothies contributed to the brand’s success in winning Gold at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards for Brand Identity, recognised for its fun, colourful, and highly effective packaging design.
Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he holds a degree in Industrial Design with a major in Visual Communication. Throughout his career, he has combined artistic craftsmanship, design expertise, and a passion for storytelling to create work that connects with audiences of all ages.
Today, he continues to write, illustrate, and develop new creative projects, bringing together decades of experience in publishing, design, and visual communication.
