Doris Yu

蓬丹，本名游蓬丹，祖籍福建寧德，畢業於國立台灣師範大學社教系，七十年代赴加拿大深造，八十年代移居美國，歷任圖書公司總編輯，英語教學主任，文藝刊物主編等職，曾多次規劃文藝活動服務社區及文友。亦曾多次應邀擔任文學講座主講人。

1991年任北美洛杉磯華文作家協會創會會長，現為監事。同年加入海外華文女作家協會，現為永久會員。亦為台灣最早成立之「中國文藝協會」會員及「世界詩人協會」永久會員。

蓬丹之創作以抒情感性為基調，並注入知性的探討，著重於提昇生活品味與尊重生命價值。十二部著作包括散文集「失鄉」、「投影，在你的波心」、「未加糖的咖啡」、「虹霓心願」、「沿著愛走一段」、「夢，已經啟航」、「流浪城」、「花中歲月」、「人間巷陌」，以及小說集「未加糖的咖啡」、「每次當我想起他」，傳記文學「追求完美的藝術大師米開蘭基羅」，報導文學 「詩書好年華」等，文章被收入二十餘種文學選集，並獲海外華文著述首獎、台灣省優良作品獎、中國文藝獎章、世界海外華文散文獎、辛亥百年文藝創作獎等獎項的肯定。

許多位文壇宿將亦分別以如下之辭形容其作品「文筆技巧透明，描繪激盪感性」，「感情真摯，文筆清新，富深沉哲思」，「以優美的文字帶給讀者閱讀的愉悅及掩卷後的無盡思索…」等等。中國文聯出版社之「海外華人女作家評述」一書中以「世途流浪中的愛與慈悲」對蓬丹文學創作進行了詳盡的賞析。

Doris Yu, the author, was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from the National Taiwan Normal University, majored in Library Science. She pursued further education in Canada and immigrated to the States in mid 80’s. She has worked as Editor in Chief for a Chinese literary magazine.

Doris Yu started creative writing in college and has produced 12 published books so far. Over 600 pieces of articles were written including essays, short stories, biographical stories for young adults, etc. She has won several major literary awards and is recognized as one of the best Chinese writers living in North America. She is the founding chair of “North America Chinese Writers Association in Los Angeles” and a permanent member of “World Congress of Poets” and “Overseas Chinese Women Writers Association”.
