Stanislav Chernyshov

Stanislav Chernyshov is a passionate language teacher and bestselling author whose textbooks have helped students around the world. With over 30 years of experience teaching Russian as a foreign language, he has helped thousands of students—from diplomats and journalists to university students and language enthusiasts—master the Russian language.

He is best known for his internationally acclaimed textbook series Poekhali!, considered one of the bestselling Russian courses in Europe and Russia. His books and teaching methods are used across the world, from Austria and Italy to the US and Japan.

Stanislav’s teaching philosophy was shaped by his own experiences—growing up in a strict Soviet school system, but later learning from inspiring mentors in martial arts, jazz, and academia. He believes that good teaching is never one-size-fits-all, but a personal journey guided by curiosity, structure, and trust.
