Mary Jane Cryan

Mary Jane Cryan is an American-Irish writer and historian who has been living in Italy since 1965 where she has had careers in international education, journalism and tourism. Her byline has appeared on local English language publications, scholarly journals, best-selling guidebooks, and Italian and English lifestyle magazines since 1978. During a 4 year stay in USSR she was on the staff of Moscow Magazine.

Her latest books, including Etruria Storie e Segreti in Italian, are inspired by Northern Lazio, where she currently resides. Among the many awards received: City of Capranica prize for historical research, the Tarquinia-Cardarelli prize for cultural promotion, awards for her website www.elegantetruria.com from the Regione Lazio.
