BIOGRAPHY OF CAROL KATZ
Carol Katz has had four different careers—teacher, librarian, archivist and administrative assistant.
She was the Archivist at the Jewish Public Library and the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Center for a number of years. She taught reading to children and adults with learning disabilities and was active in the Learning Disabilities Association of Quebec for many years. She volunteered her time organizing the archival collection of the Quebec Writers Federation and the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre Archives. She acted as a guide for art exhibitions at the Eleanor London Cote St. Luc Public Library.
Carol loves music, literature, art, sculpture and musical theatre. She has taken art, sculpture, and creative writing classes and sang in the choir at the Creative Social Center (a senior center in Montreal). She plays guitar in the Cummings Centre Band. She’s an avid reader of fiction, non-fiction, and mystery. Carol is an art enthusiast and a published author. Her inspiration comes on buses. She calls it: “Writing in Motion.”
Her publications include short stories, poems, and articles in various anthologies, and her first Children’s book, ZAIDIE AND FERDELE: MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD, illustrated by Shira Katz and Sandra Levy, Deux Voiliers Publishing, 2012.
