Rose Hayden-Smith is an Emeritus academic from the University of California. She is an author, U.S. historian, garden educator and food systems expert and a leading authority on the history of garden movements - including Victory Gardens - and the U.S. food system. An avid blogger, she is the creator of the University of California Food Observer platform. Her work has appeared in many publications, including Civil Eats, Huffington Post and KCET.
