Tom Haikin

The 2013 recipient of the coveted Roupe Award, Tom has published twenty books to date and is currently working on his twenty-first. His lifetime of travel and a background in both technical and managerial disciplines has given him a perspective into the human condition that comes through clearly in his writing.

Born in Los Angeles long before the Battle of Chavez Ravine had begun, Tom's family moved across country twice before he had completed elementary school. After he became an adult, Tom crossed country several more times with his wife and daughter before settling in the high desert of Nevada until his retirement. His lifetime of living shows up frequently in the locale of his stories, enhanced by a thirst for historic detail.

A fan of model railroading without having the space to build one, Tom turned his attention to creating worlds in print. One of his favorite parings is the unlikely team of Todd Dugan, a scoundrel with a sixth sense for larceny and Molly Browning, a highly decorated retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant who follows only the rules.
