A gentle gentleman who loves and writes primarily for women, I was born in the British military base hospital at Catterick in North Yorkshire, England.

In the ensuing years I've done pretty much every low-paid job there is and know what it is to struggle to make ends meet. I have had two wonderful children; Jennifer, a heroically handicapped little girl who died in 1991, a quarter of a century ago, and whom I still miss, and my son Kit, now in his twenties and a source of undying pride.

For the last decade or so I have worked in primary and secondary schools in England, latterly supporting children on the autistic spectrum. They have been the happiest ten years of my life, that happiness added to by a wonderful partner.

I have traveled fairly extensively in Europe, latterly to Southern Italy and the endlessly wonderful Sicily, have stood at the top of Vesuvius and of Etna, walked among the ghosts in the streets of Pompeii and gazed on the endlessly awesome majesty of Rome.

I am old enough to remember a time when women were taught, essentially, that sex required them to 'lie still and think of England' and when among some women it was acceptable that 'yeah, well sex is something I give him, 'cos if I didn't he wouldn't give me money for fags'. I write in the hope that female readers in particular will find in my words an honest reflection of the beauty, glory and wonder that is sex and the human body.
