K. D. Huxman

K. D. Huxman was born and raised in Massachusetts. She grew up enjoying roaming through the forests and playing sports with her four brothers and sisters. After high school she went on to earn a B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Lowell. She participated in Air Force ROTC while in college and was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the Air Force upon graduation. She resigned her commission after achieving the rank of Captain. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College/Norwich University. Her second picture book, “Grizzelda Gorilla,” won an EPPIE for Best Children’s/YA Ebook in 2008. She now lives and works in Colorado.
