Deirdre Saoirse Moen writes science fiction, fantasy, erotic romance, and non-fiction—not all at the same time. Usually. She lives in Menlo Park, California with her husband, her mother, one cat (who is not a kitty), and a glow-in-the-dark jellyfish. In addition to writing, she’s an avid photographer and graphic designer.
Ten Things I've Done that You Probably Haven't:
1. Went snorkeling in a bay while the bay's island was being shelled by the military. (San Clemente Island, California)
2. Dived in a passenger submarine. More than once.
3. Hand-fed sting rays in the Caribbean. (They are like little puppies, they will rub up against you for food.)
4. Stood inside Newgrange.
5. Joined -- and left -- a cult.
6. Walked through the caliche forest on San Miguel Island.
7. Visited six continents within six months, five of them on a single trip.
8. Been a software engineer at Apple. And TiVo.
9. Wrote software to help Rh- mothers carry Rh+ babies to term safely. (The software managed injection schedules.)
10. Walked in an active volcano's exclusion zone. On Christmas Day.
