John Weeast

John Weeast is a former journalist and sports writer, now short story author, novelist and sometimes poor poet. He’s had many professions over the years trying to find his “place.” After spending eight years doing marketing and advertising (amongst many other things) at a golf course, he went back to college after the economy stole his wallet. He graduated with an AA in Digital Mass Media with a focus on journalism. While he loves hard news stories that you can dig into, it’s the story itself that drives him. It’s the ultimate chase.

He was the Editor-In-Chief of his college paper, The Viking News. He wrote for Lionbacker.com as well as Bleacherreport.com covering the Detroit Lions, even though he lives in New Jersey. As well as The Shield in Kaiser’s Gate Tales from the Front, he has forthcoming short stories in a paranormal anthology to be published late 2014. His forthcoming novel, Exit 82, is currently in the editing phase.

He was born in a hospital that is no longer there, grew up in a neighborhood that never changes and lives a life too positive and fun that it requires a steady dose of demented horror to bring it into balance. He used to write as a child, but wanted to live a normal life that everyone else deemed “normal.” Because he’s not normal so he eventually returned to writing and can be found at @johnweeast on twitter and at john.weeast.com.
