Julie Mata

Julie Mata grew up in Barrington, Illinois. She wrote her first story at age six and was thrilled when it received a starred review from her mother. She worked as a TV reporter for many years and she and her husband currently own a video production company in Florida. They have two daughters and two dogs. They also raised chickens for a while, which sparked the idea for Mata's debut middle grade novel, KATE WALDEN DIRECTS: NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIE CHICKENS, and the sequel, KATE WALDEN DIRECTS: SLUG MAN FROM MARS.
