Susannah McFarlane is the original concept creator of Zac Power and the author and creator of the bestselling EJ12 Girl Hero series, which has sold hundreds of thousands of copies and inspired a generation of readers who love brave, clever girl heroes. She is also the co-author of the Boy vs Beast series (as Mac Park) and the author of Fairy Tales for Feisty Girls and other empowering books for young readers.

Susannah first created EJ12 for her daughter Emma when she was 12, to give her a girl hero who solved problems with her brain and her heart. Today, Emma works in the fashion industry, helping to make global supply chains more ethical and sustainable—a real-world mission that reflects the values at the heart of EJ12.

Susannah lives in Australia and continues to write stories that help kids feel seen, strong and ready to take on their own missions.
