Fernando Vaz (1949- ) was born in Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, a small town in São Paulo State, Brazil, to Brazilian parents, he grew up in Leme, a small town at the same region. He studied at USP (Universidade de São Paulo) an worked for the Brazilian public administration and for two important Brazilian banks, BNDE and Banco do Brasil. In 1998, he got a pension, but did not retire and since then he has been working with agricultural credit and soft commodities warehousing. He won important Brazilian prizes, like Origines Lessa in 2000.
