Suzanne Gilbert

We're proud to share the announcement that this author has been awarded a 2024 Rockower Award for Essay by the AJPA. Suzanne Gilbert is the pen name used for the 2014 novel, Tapioca Fire, by Michele Kriegman.

Her subsequent novels are written under her legal, adoptive name, Michele Kriegman, where she brings together family forensics, friendship fiction, and found family in this series of interlocking stories with unique voices: Finding Faith: a memoirish novel (2022), From a Desert City by the Sea (2021), and ROCK MEMOIR (2021).

Surprisingly, arts and letters have turned her into an accidental genealogist and you can find her on all social as Michele Kriegman, accidental genealogist. Earlier in her career she produced/wrote for ABC News, Slate, Maine Public, NTV, TV Asahi, Tokyo Broadcasting, and Info Security Professional, among others.

She holds the CISSP and CISM security credentials, and has worked as a Japanese-English interpreter. She brought this expertise to compiling and editing the Mobile Content Developers' & Translators’ Learner Dictionary of English-Simplified Technical English & Simplified Technical English-Japanese: STE英英・STE英和学習辞典 (2017 & 2nd ed. 2020).
