Steve Sanders was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued his education at Bowling Green State University where he also played football for future Hall of Fame coach Urban Meyer and finished with impressive career stats of 156 receptions for 2,324 yards and 24 touchdowns. More importantly, he graduated college with a degree in Political Science. Sanders on field success led him to play in the NFL for his hometown, the Cleveland Browns, during the 2006-2008 seasons. He also has played for the Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Gladiators.

As part of his life commitment to directly impacting young people who have come from similar environments, socioeconomics and urban generation as he has, in 2011, Sanders announced the opening of The Steve Sanders Academy, an Ohio Community School in his old community. At the age of 28, Sanders was one of the youngest people across the country to found an educational institution. He is also one of the first professional athletes to willingly step away from his childhood dream of playing professional football to commit his life to directly impacting youth by opening a charter school. Sanders relates to and understands the issues young people are dealing with, especially the trials and tribulations that they must overcome within education.

In addition to his playing career and philanthropy, Steve Sanders recently launched Training Camp For Life, a nonprofit organization created to inspire, develop and empower young male athletes in all aspects of sports and life. He serves as Executive Director and Life Coach of TCFL. A renown speaker with a unique style and relatable story, Sanders has the ability to grasp many different types of audiences. His new book “Training Camp For Life – Developing Champions In Sports and In Life” is set to release November 2013. Steve Sanders will begin the Training Camp For Life Book Tour in March 2014.
