Sam Faulkner

My name is John Samuel Faulkner, but most people call me Sam. I was born in Memphis Tennessee, and am a physicist by trade. I obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Auburn University, and was awarded a Ph.D. in physics by The Ohio State University. I have published over 90 journal articles in the area of theoretical condensed matter physics. I wrote one book on the theory of alloys and edited another in the same field. I am an Emeritus Professor of Physics at Florida Atlantic University, and the Associate Director of the Center for Biomedical and Materials Physics (CBAMP).

I have published a set of lectures for a graduate course in quantum mechanics, "Quantum Mechanics for the Advanced User" in the Kindle Print Replica format (Amazon).

My novel, written under the name "Sam Faulkner" and entitled "The Sparrow," is available as an ebook from Kindle Bookstore (Amazon). This is an action-adventure novel, but the plot-line contains many scientifically accurate references from the fields of physics, cryptology, and quantum computers.

I published a book, "Multiple Scattering Theory:Electronic Structure of Solids" along with my colleagues Malcolm Stocks and Yang Wang. It is available as a Kindle ebook (Amazon).

I am a Fellow of the American Physical Society as well as the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and am profiled in Who's Who in America. I am married with 2 children.

My official website is http://physics2.fau.edu/~faulkner/
