Raised in the small town of Grapeville, New York, Cindy Foley got her motivation to write from her stay-at-home mom who wrote poetry and short stories for magazines, and a weekly column for the local newspaper. Foley's favorite subjects in high school and college were English and Creative Writing. She received her first recognition in the 5th grade for winning a contest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her first novel "The Truth Lies...a Florida Saga" has been described as on the same par as Patrick Smith's "A Land Remembered" and won the 2016 Space Coast Writers' Guild Don Argo Award for best in Florida Literature.
Her series "I, Clawed Adventures" feature stories for readers young and old. Book One: The Renewal" is filled with magic and treasure, odd friendships, and a strange world called Bling. Book Two: "Dog Days" explores the challenge of being bullied and what happens when faced with the choice to forgive. Book three: Friends of a Different Feather examines what it's like to be different and how to accept those differences. All the books are written by Clawed, the cat who is best friends with a chatty green anole. When cats and lizards become friends in a magic town, who knows what will happen next?
"Water Drops" displays her wide range of ability through award-winning poetry, short stories, photography, and art.
"Chase A Dream Today" is a collaborative work with her son and offers more of her poetry and art. Purple is a collection of essays, short stories, and poetry on her life experiences.
She says: "Writing is an art. As masters of disguise, we take real people from authentic situations and weave them into colorful tapestries. We are all real-life characters searching for redemption and writing is a way to expose our erring human ways with grace. Write! It's good for the psyche, purges the soul, lets readers know - they are not alone."
