Nigel Wheeler

Nigel Wheeler was born in Chester, England, in 1943. He graduated from London University as a doctor of medicine in 1967. Most of his professional life was spent as a British Army Medical Officer where he served in many locations which have provided a rich and authentic background to much of his writing. Whilst in the Army he wrote strictly for medical publications, but his life-long love of reading good literature led him to finally to publish his first work of fiction released in 2013 - 'The Girlfriend'- received many favourable comments and ratings about his writing ability and the story itself. Now retired to Austria in the lakes and mountains around Salzburg, he and his wife- a talented artist- find much inspiration in their idyllic alpine home.

His second novel-'Harmony and Dissonance' has just been published in paperback and Kindle form using Amazon self-publishing tools.

His hobbies include reading, classical and popular music, modelrailways, skiing in winter and golf in summer. He drives an immaculately restored 1964 MGB!

He does not twitter or tweet, but would like to reach a wider readership.Whilst his target readership is of a mature literate audience, a recent request to speak to some sixth form students and do a book signing at his old school suggested a younger intelligent market enjoyed reading his first novel. He found a critical appraisal from Writers'Workshop and an Arvon creative writing course very helpful in finding his creative voice, placing the reader at the centre of the story.

He is busy working on his next novel.
