Gloria Doty

Born in rural Northeast Indiana, Gloria has always loved to write. There have been a few detours along the way, however. She was married for nearly 40 years before being divorced. Gloria had 5 children and 13 careers in that time. In June, 2011, she made the decision to do what she felt God had intended for her from the beginning...make writing her full-time occupation.

Although Gloria has written magazine articles, anthologies, devotionals and fiction, she felt the need to help other parents of special needs children by chronicling her and her daughter's 30-year journey with autism, Asperger's and intellectual disabilities. The result is the book, titled: Not Different Enough, for which Gloria received the 2014 Writer of the Year Award from WTP Conference in Wheaton, IL.

Her next writing endeavor was a team effort with her sister. Their book, Bouquet of Devotions contains 50 common flowers and 50 unique devotions.

After a one-day writing seminar, she made a decision to try her hand at Contemporary Christian Romance novels...with a bit of a twist. In place of the usual young, beautiful characters in most romance books, the characters in The Magnolia Series, were 59 and 62. Following "The Magnolia Series" there are now eight novels in the next series..."Return to Magnolia."

Woven into her life were some additional life events. Gloria has thirteen grandchildren. Her goal is to write a children's book about each one. She has five finished with eight to go. She also is the proud great-grandmother of 15, soon-to-be 16, beautiful children.

In 2017. she met and married a man she had known for many years. Unfortunately, he died suddenly in 2020. She likes to say she fell in love at age 16 and again at age 70.

Gloria continues to write from her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
