Harriet Cannon

Harriet Cannon was raised in a family of storytellers with diverse cultural backgrounds, accents and world views. As an adult, wanderlust and a passion for common threads that unite humanity and smooth rough edges of cultural conflict led her into multicultural work. As a psychotherapist, she worked for the US State Department in Chile, as a consultant to international schools and The Boeing Company and is a popular speaker at professional conferences. As a writer, Harriet's interest in reconciliation, healing, cultural conflict continues in her debut novel, Exiled South, launching on December 3, 2021.

Rhoda Berlin is the daughter of Korean immigrants. She is married to a European immigrant with whom she has raised three children. Rhoda spent a lot of her growing up years pondering questions like: "Why is my family so different from those of my friends?, What does it men to belong?", "Does anyone else eat Kimchee with their Thanksgiving Turkey?" It was not a surprise her life experience led a career as a Marriage and Family Therapist.

Harriet Cannon and Rhoda Berlin, colleagues and friends for years, noticed the lack of hands-on books for couples and families in all kinds of mixed race and mixed culture relationships. Mixed Blessings: A Guide to Multicultural and Multiethnic Relationships is the result. A practical book for couples and families, also useful for counselors, teachers and health care professionals.
