Hi! I’m Rosemary Augustine. I started writing as a teenager as I kept a diary and wrote poetry and daily thoughts. It wasn't until I reached my 40s that I became a serious writer and started writing non-fiction books. My first book - Facing Changes in Employment - was released in 1995 while coaching individuals in career transition. Its contents still rings true today of our ever changing workforce.
Interestingly, I was once told not to write books in different genres, but to stay within one genre. I didn't follow that advice, but instead, write with an basic underlying theme - self help guides to show the reader how to transition throughout life when fear, grief and toxic patterns block us from being organized, aware and focused. The end result allows us to enjoy life's journey. To date I've written and published 12 books of my own and several for clients. My most popular ones include 365 Days of Creative Writing and Secrets I Learned From Ordinary House Cats. I recently wrote a book of checklists to help with preparing for storm emergencies, especially in the state of Florida where I now live. The book is titled: A Survivor's Guide to Emergency Preparedness, and like all my books, can be found on Amazon.
Over the last 20 years, in addition to writing books, I have developed my artistic skills using acrylics, watercolors and mixed media. I maintain a daily journaling practice as well as writing books with journal prompts for everyday use. Many people call me a Journal Aficionado. Ha! Even my license plate says Journal. My thought behind having personalized license plates was to remind myself to journal every day and to inspire others to do the same.
Because I love to write journal prompts, I also enjoy creating hand-crafted journals. And... because of my love for cats, I write about them as well as paint and photograph them. My muse and kitty Ziggy, who was with me for 11 years, is the featured feline in my book Secrets I Learned From Ordinary House Cats. And he was a star on Facebook with over 2,000 followers in a short amount of time. The fame never went to his head, though I often got a few good laughs on our posts. Ziggy also has a password book called Ziggy's Secrets, which is an internet password log book to hold all your secret data – for humans of course. I’ve continued with Ziggy’s Facebook page with my new kitties Oscar and Buttercup.
I am active on Social Media, and you can find me on Facebook and Twitter at Ziggy’s Secrets. I write several blogs, one on my personal website RosemaryAugustine.com and one at my website devoted to cats at ThankGodiMaFeline.com. You can join my emails lists at either of these websites. If you subscribe you can unsubscribe at any time.
I’m also the owner of Blue Spruce Publishing, a former President of Colorado Independent Publishers Association, and listed in Who's Who of American Women. Thanks for viewing my bio and hope you join me somewhere online real soon.
