NJ Travis

NJ Travis retired as a Computer Systems Engineer in 2006 to study Human Engineering with Dr. Deepak Chopra. She is a certified yoga therapist and a certifiable lunatic. A surfer, bodybuilder, power-lifter and mad scientist, she divided her time between California and Western Australia for fifteen years before the universe made her sit down and behave. Well almost...as Eric Church put it: "I've slowed down quite a bit. But I still go harder than most."

The House of Pain trilogy explores the dark grey area where Yoga crosses paths with the Marquis de Sade. The first Noble Truth of Buddha--that all life is Dukkha: pain and suffering--glosses over the fact that pain is evolutionary. Pain is a given fact of life and can be as sweet as cherry jam with a bourbon float. Pain is the spice of life. Pain is also a damn good teacher.

The HOP trilogy includes House of Pain (Jasmine), Shiva Dice (Lotus) and Dirty Water (Narcissus).

The original cover art was commissioned by Vincent Stephens, an extraordinary erotic artist who has published three graphic books of his own. A very limited number of copies are available on Amazon signed by both the artist and the author.
