I'm a retired junior high school Language Arts teacher. Though I was born in Butte, Montana, I grew up and was educated in a small village on the banks of a sluggish river northeast of Seattle.
In high school I concentrated mainly on sports and girls, leaving the academics to more sensible kids, a regret high on my list.
After high school I joined the navy, became a hospital corpsman, and spent two years of my four year love affair with the military as a surgical assistant in the Philippines. After my discharge I enrolled at the University of Washington in Seattle, and four and a half years later took a degree in American and British Literature.
I walk daily, read constantly, love the theatre and movies, and try to write poetry, short stories, and novels with my heart and imagination wide open at full throttle.
If you do have a go at one of my books or blog, I'd be delighted to hear what you think. John
