Oren Hammerquist

Oren Hammerquist was born in Everett, Washington in 1982 (in the same hospital as his father). Looking to see the world, he joined the Army in 2006 (only to be sent to a base 20 miles from his home). In ten years, he has served in Afghanistan, Qatar, Germany, and several other locations. Take the good with the bad; he has worked in a variety of fascinating jobs within the military.

After earning a BA in Criminal Justice, he decided to focus on his first passion: English. He earned an MA in English and Creative Writing in 2017. In addition to writing his 4th novel, he is working as an intern with the Army's Future Warfare Writing Project. He is actively seeking ideas to help guide authors to improve their writing and express themselves (not to mention find a use for his MA.) Two such ideas are available on his website for those interested in helping.

He is happily married and is a father of 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy) and a father of twins.
