April Corbett

April Kinney Corbett (April Mae Kinney) is an author, advocate, and artist. Writing is her passion and it shows. Whether it's writing poetry, children's books, fiction, non-fiction, or

blogging there's no doubt you'll be taken along an amazing journey.

Inspired by her daughter Tiana Hope, who was born with a rare brain disorder, April feels if her daughter can overcome so can we all. "If I can help just one person feel more connected, less alone, and somehow inspired then I have accomplished what I set out to do." Her first poetry book 'Its My Life & I'll Smile If I Want To' stemmed from her personal journals.

"The Adventures of Chopper & T" is the title of her first children's book. She collaborated with award-winning children's illustrator Alexandra H. MacVean to create a children's book teaching children and parents alike

how to cope with emotions that stem from special needs children. It shows

how art, music, and nature can all be therapeutic and brings awareness of

rare and invisisible disabilities.

Aprils next ventures are another poetry book titled 'Bold Bravery a poetic lifeline', a whimsical children's book titled 'April Mae Meets the Moon, and a promising fiction novel following close behind.

Published on multiple platforms, April has written for a variety of online sites such as The Mighty, Jason's Connection, Know Autism; as well as the print book the ODET.

Travel, photography, family, and staying active in the local community are all integral parts of her life.

Blogging allows her to share inspirational messages, while also talking about real life issues and sharing adventures from the heart.

April is originally from Maine

and now resides in Florida.
