James Broad

James Broad (1968-) was born in Kalispell, Montana where he grew up. In 1987 he joined the US Army where he served in many different locations worldwide serving in numerous roles including Advanced Individual Training (AIT) instructor and Computer Network Attack team leader. After leaving the military, James implemented information assurance, information security, and risk management solution for some of the largest organizations in the government including members of the Intelligence Community (IC), the Department of Defense (DoD) as well as outside the government for organizations in the critical infrastructure including financial, medical, and pharmaceutical organizations. Besides teaching AIT, he has developed training programs for Army penetration testing teams, and several colleges and universities where he serves as an adjunct professor. In 2016 he was awarded the Cybersecurity Educator of the Year, his assessment team was awarded the National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal, and he has earned numerous military awards and medals. James writes books to share his knowledge of security and risk management topics.
