Jane Graiko is from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A US Air Force "brat," Jane lived in Sembach and Darmstadt, West Germany from 1958 to 1962, and Misawa, Japan from 1965 to 1966. Overseas living provided a rich learning experience and opportunity for travel. Jane was a kindergarten teacher, news reporter for the Syracuse Post-Standard, public relations specialist with Stone & Webster, and program administrator at the University of Vermont. She culminated a 24-year career at UVM coordinating the McNair Scholars Program. Now retired, Jane's a wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong reader and writer. In addition to years of published articles, photos and educational materials, she is a recipient of the Ralph Nading Hill literary prize from Green Mountain Power, published in the Fall 2010 issue of Vermont Life Magazine. The "A Customary Obsession" trilogy continues in 2015.
