My name is Ruth Barringham and I'm a freelance writer, author and internet entrepreneur. I've been working online since 2005 and I have several different websites including my main site which can be found at https://ruthiswriting.com and it's an inspirational website for writers and authors.

I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. I live with my husband, Dean.

MY LIFE AS A WRITER

I work mostly from home. Sometimes I work in the park or in the local library or sitting in one of the outdoor areas where I live. I live in a small 2-bedroom apartment only a few minutes walk from the beach, here on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, in Queensland Australia. We have recently downsized to an apartment so that we have less to do and I can spend more time writing. We also plan to travel a lot.

I grew up in Australia in a Brisbane suburb called Everton Park before emigrating with my family to the UK in the 1980s where I lived for about 20 years before returning to Brisbane.

Since then, my two children have left home and that's when Dean and I bought a small house in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (mountains) and Dean retired early. Then we downsized again to a small apartment on the coast itself.

What I love most about being a writer is that it provides me with a regular income. And the great thing about it is that the more books and ebooks I write, the more money I make which leaves me completely in control of how much I work and how much I earn.

I wouldn't trade this kind of life for any other.
