Bailey Herrington

Bailey Herrington has written and published The David Elliott Mystery Series, five murder mysteries based on true crimes: What the Barber Knew, Dead to Rights, Pack of Scoundrels, The Girl in the Orange Maillot, and Vested Interest. BookTrib named Dead to Rights one of the twenty-five best reads of 2023.

Herrington’s books follow the lives of unintentional amateur detectives David and Judy Elliott who solve murders with intuition, courage, and curiosity. Libraries play an important role in all his stories.

A former Lutheran pastor, Bailey lives in Las Cruces, NM with his wife Karen, enjoying good friends, visiting national parks and archeological sites. He loves baseball and is a die-hard Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Among his favorite books are To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Amor Towles' A Gentleman in Moscow, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus, and any mystery written by Henning Mankell.
