These books are my way of giving a voice to figures from our past as a way to try and understand their world. The Knights Templar provide a unique way to understand the differences and similarities between our eras. In some ways they look remarkably modern with their complex organizational structure, international reach and single minded focus.

Politics play a central part of these novels and the struggles between competing centers of power provide the backdrop to the human stories.
