Carmelo Ferlito (Verona, Italy, 1978) is an Italian scholar now working as Sales Director Asia for Jansen Poultry Equipment. The company is based in Barneveld, Netherlands.
He lives with his wife, Meilina, in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.
His research activity is devoted to develop Austrian Economics. He is particularly interested in the business cycle theory developed by the Austrian School, in particular by Friedrich A. von Hayek and, more recently, by Ludwig Lachmann and Roger Garrison. However, his theory is strongly influenced by Schumpeter and Spiethoff. He is interested also in monetary theories and in the socialist economic calculation debate; his view on this points is influenced in particular by Jesus Huerta de Soto.
Carmelo Ferlito is Senior Fellow at the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) in Kuala Lumpur.
Carmelo Ferlito is Visiting Professor (History of Economic Thought) at the Malaysia Campus of University of Wollongong, hosted at INTI University & Colleges, Subang Jaya, Malaysia.
He is a member of the Ludwig von Mises Institute (Auburn, Alabama, U.S.A.).
