Randy Kraft

Randy Kraft is a retired newspaper and magazine journalist, and former communications strategist.

An avid reader and occasional writing coach, she is also a book reviewer and facilitator of literary events.

Many of her stories, also essays, have been published in recent years in literary magazines.

She holds a master's in writing [MAW] an MBA, and a BA in English/Literature.

She is a member of PEN America and Writers for Democratic Action.

Her second collection of stories, premiering Fall 2025, features characters grappling with the setbacks and second chances of age in this modern age.

Her third novel, OFF SEASON, published March 2023, reflects on what it means to be devoted in an age of increasing uncertainty.

Her first collection of stories, RATIONAL WOMEN, published 2020, featured contemporary women navigating the delicate balance between reason and passion. Many were originally published in literary magazines.

A story in that collection was first produced as a play at the first San Miguel de Allende, MX, short play festival in 2013, and became the basis for the novel OFF SEASON.

SIGNS OF LIFE [2016] deals with the effect of traumatic loss on a longstanding friendship.

COLORS OF THE WHEEL [2014] reflects the unique challenges of mixed-race relationships and blended families.
