Dawn Foss

I always dreamed of writing one day, but thought it would probably happen while in retirement. However, as the Lord has placed a passion in my heart for writing, I have been following that call now and have started to publish books through Tate Publishing. The Lord has also placed poems on my heart, and some of those poems I have turned into songs. I teach Sunday School, and enjoy working with young people. My two daughters are in their twenties now, and I have enjoyed being a mom and a mentor over the years.

As a family nurse practitioner in a family practice, I also have a caring heart toward not only people's emotional and spiritual needs, but their physical needs as well. I live a very fulfilled life with my family and church and career. However, above all, I cherish my relationship with the Lord. I am so grateful that He uses me for His honor and glory. For me, with all the busyness of life, the thing I long for the most is quiet time to either write books/poems or work on music. I enjoy interacting with people, but have to have that quiet time alone with the Lord on a regular basis or else I get overwhelmed.

I love watching good Christmas movies. I don't enjoy cooking, as I consider it a terrible time killer - especially the clean up! However, I love to bake. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite ice cream flavor. A daily dose of chocolate is a must, and Mac & Cheese is probably my favorite comfort food. I love going for walks, riding bikes, and playing badminton.

I desire to encourage young people to live their lives for the Lord. As a young person, I wasn't made to serve the Lord; I did it because I loved Him so much, and wanted to serve Him with all my heart. I strive to share that zeal, and share how wonderful a relationship with Jesus Christ really is! No one can make you love the Lord. It HAS to come from within you. Your life will be the best when lived for the Lord. It doesn't mean you have to live a "cookie cutter" life. It means you are YOU, as God created you, striving to do your best with your individual gifts, serving Him in whatever field you work in, whatever your circumstances, family life, culture, hobbies, etc. God wants you to have abundant life! He has wisdom, guidance and commands in His Word that are meant to make your life completely awesome, filled with purpose and meaning! He is a personal God, for which I am so grateful.
