William K Mackie

William K. Mackie is a former Veteran of both the Royal Navy and of the British Army. He left the Army not sure whether or not to go into politics or become a stand up comedian. It wasn't long before he discovered that there really wasn't much difference between the two. Being an Army Veteran, he moved into the Security Industry before being Ordained into Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, he later attended the University of Aberdeen where he graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree. Despite his degree, he chose not to go into full time ministry but decided to have a regular Jon and preach at weekends when invited to do so. He became a Self-Employed Security Training Provider, and dd Maritime Anti Terrorism Courses to his portfolio.

In 2010, he had a mini stroke that made he rethink his priorities. He had to quit teaching, in part because of some memory loss, and in part because his sight was starting to fail.

He turned his talents to writing and whilst he only ever actually intended writing one book, he has now since published over 20 books on various topics, and later when he became a missionary in Tanzania, when he discovered how much people were being charged for bibles, he sat down and using an online app, translated the King James Bible into Swahili, he produced this in paperback format for less than 25% of what the asking price was in Dar es Salaam. He also compiled a Swahili New Testament.

He started a Series of Books under the heading of "Yesterday's Man, the first book was a tribute to the Rev Duncan Campbell best know for his part in the Lewis Revival of 1949 to 1952. He later added books about the American Evangelist Billy Sunday, and then the real father of the American Civil Rights Movement, the Rev Dr Vernon Johns, who was replaced as Pastor by the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Junior. He hopes that before his sight prevents anymore books, to add former American Slave turned Campaigner Frederick Douglas to that list., to that list

Over the years, William has become internationally known for his work as an author, and as a humanitarian, become a Global Peace Ambassador for the International Human Rights Commission, He has since 2021 received various honours and awards for his services to Literature and to Humanity. These include becoming a Knight of the Order of St. Catherine of Mount Sinai, and later being given amperage, both from the Royal House of Lusignan.
