Dan Whiting

Dan Whiting is the brains behind The Middle Stump,a popular and amusing cricket blog and a growing Twitter presence. A local cricketer, his writing displays a broad knowledge of the sport as well as a talent for comedy. Cricket Banter is his first book and he resides in North London. His second book, Characters of Cricket came out in the spring of 2015. His third book, The Definitive Guide to Club Cricket was released in August 2016, with his fourth, The Exhaustive Guide to Club Cricket being published in November 2018. His first foray into football writing is Barnet Affair out in October 2020. Taking the Mic, a diary of his season commentating for the BBC and Gloucestershire CCC is out in November 2024.

He has been described in The Cricketer Magazine "as one of the leading alternative cricket writers in Britain at present".
